As the sun travels towards its summer zenith, we found it appropriate to set up a turntable, invite friends and cook. So it gives us immense joy that 2 x Jonas - Visti & Hartz - will join us and take all of us on a musical journey to Brazil and Japan. A treat that makes ourselves feel incredibly spoiled. The 3rd Jonas is our own head chef for 10 years. Jonas Hillgaard who leads a band of merry chefs on our culinary travels. So why these two countries ? The easier answer would be that we have a strong Japanese influence and one our Chefs - Gui - is from Brazil. The other easy answer is the deep knowledge that 2 x Jonas possesses on Music from these two countries, making it an obvious choice. But did you know that Brazil is home to nearly two million Japanese descendants, the largest group outside of Japan? That the reason was coffee? And through migration and return immigration there is a strong food identity mixing the two cuisines, which is present in both Brazil and Japan ? The real answer however is that we love finding excuses to meet, invite people and celebrate life. So do join for a small fest. The being prepared and will be posted when ready. However we have Sake, Cachaça and other lovely beverages ready. Amongst those we are dying to try is to mix Cachaça with one of our favourite sins; Vermouth. Thus making a Rabo-de-Galo.
